Not a Superwoman, Just a Woman

Being a woman has never been easy.

For generations, our efforts were unseen, our sacrifices expected, and our resilience mistaken for duty.

Yes, being a man comes with certain privileges—
- No monthly battles with pain and discomfort.
- No life-altering pregnancy and postpartum struggles.
- No ingrained responsibility of raising children, yet always given the benefit of the doubt.

But the world is changing.
Women are no longer just enduring—they are reclaiming.

No I am not superwoman, neither anyone is going to give me award, like the man has got, mera beta - kitna kam karta hai. ( My son is working hard in the office from 09-05 p.m ) but when we are working from 05.00 a.m to 11.00 p.m the efforts are never measured, nor appriciated.

Not because I can’t handle it, but because I shouldn’t have to.

I am an obedient daughter, but I have my own voice.
A selfless wife, but I have my own dreams.
A doting mother, but I need my own space.
A sincere professional, but I don’t owe the world my exhaustion.

Being all of this was once seen as my “moral responsibility.” Now, it is my choice. And if I choose to say no, the world will have to listen.
But this isn’t just about women.

For years, men have been told their role is to provide and protect. But now, the world expects more—from both men and women.

Not because one is replacing the other, but because both deserve to share life’s responsibilities and rewards.

Today, celebrating women isn’t just about appreciation—it’s about recognition. And supporting men isn’t about competition—it’s about evolution.

So, this Women’s Day, I choose to be just a woman. Not a superwoman.
And I hope we all learn that strength is not in expectations, but in shared understanding.
